Spotlight Review Night

Our critique nights at the studio are community events for photographers to have meaningful and constructive conversations about their work.

This Spotlight Review night is a dedicated to giving a deeper review and critique of ongoing projects or a story-based series (a collection of images, not single images). Photographers of all experience levels are invited to submit a proposal for a body of work to present and to take part of the collaborative group review process. With these reviews being more in-depth than our Open Critique nights, Presenter Slots are limited to 3 people to ensure there is enough time to dive into the body of work shared.

Submissions are only needed if you would like to present work in this spotlight fashion. We encourage folks who aren’t showing work to come support fellow photographers and be part of the conversation.

Participants are welcome bring physical prints to work with, but we will have a monitor/projector available for displaying pictures as well. Sign up through the link below to be considered for a Spotlight Review!

Be sure to check out our Open Critique nights as well!

Community Yoga

Slow Flow with Gabby Ureña Matos

Come be with your breath, your body, and your mind on your mat. This slow flow class is an opportunity to pause, ground, and move as you need to. We'll gradually shift through poses, hold some for longer than others, and explore how our breath moves along with us. Bring your yoga mat, your aches from holding a camera at weird angles, and a little time carved out of your day.

This class is open to everyone — no experience or prior knowledge of yoga is necessary.

Registration is required, as space will be limited.

A little bit about Gabby

“I made my way into yoga through dance, guided by teachers and mentors who saw it as a natural pairing to the art. I felt pulled to the practice and with time found myself in a 30 hour yin yoga training. A few years later, I completed my 200 hour and yet again felt a pull that now expanded into teaching. Yoga became a constant that is always changing; a place where I can reflect on my connection to myself, to those who have guided me, and to those I’ve yet to build community with.

Restorative and yin are the practices I feel most kinship with: practices that remind me to counter the fast-paced way of living I’m used to. I also enjoy teaching creative vinyasa and slow flows that encourage you to explore new ways to approach the familiar. Whatever format it is, class will always offer plenty of variations, reminders to draw you into the present, and a space for you to move and be as you need.

Outside of class, you can find me cooking and baking for those I love, crafting with friends, and soaking up as much sun as I can whether on the floor of my living room, in a hammock, or out in the city.”

Open Critique Night

Critique nights at the studio are community events for photographers to have meaningful and constructive conversations about their work.

This Open Critique welcomes all skill levels and doesn’t require sign up. In short rounds (typically up to 15 mins), those who want to share work can share what they’re currently working on, past work, or new steps they are wanting to explore.

We welcome work at any stage — from experimental images to contact sheets, dummies and final edits. We encourage you to bring works in progress, it does not need to be polished!

We also encourage folks who aren’t showing work to come support fellow photographers and be part of the conversation.

Interested in a longer critique that is project-based? Sign up for our Spotlight Reviews, which are dedicated to providing deeper feedback and critique for an ongoing project or story-based series.

6:30PM reading of Viewfinder by Stephanie Blair Mitchell

Viewfinder is the debut poetry collection by photographer Stephanie Blair Mitchell.

Viewfinder traces the early history of photography, showcases her favorite photographers, depicts her personal relationship to the craft, describes the physicality of picture making, and honors her late father who introduced her to the art form. The collection features ekphrastic poems inspired by the photographs of Sally Mann, Emmet Gowin, Dorothea Lange, Margaret Bourke-White, and others who have shaped ways of seeing and remembering.

Published November 14, 2025. Available for purchase through Finishing Line Press, the publisher, and elsewhere.

Stephanie will be selling and signing books after the reading.

8:00PM FauxMenco

Join us as we end the evening with FauxMenco, an attitude that blends flamenco fandom with energy, resulting in fiery instrumental compositions that owe as much to metal as they do Paco de Lucia. After a raucous performance at the 2025 Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival, one fan called them “flamenco meets Tool.”

Selected by Brian May to win his famed Red Special guitar, Catherine Capozzi is a genre-bending, award-winning film composer and producer. Rafi Sofer is an engineer/producer (Q Division Studios), and educator (Berklee College of music) who also explores visual and digital media.

While the music the duo writes gives the listener space to explore anything- the titles explore the natural world, and the perils of climate change and greed. Their debut EP, Speed x Volume = FauxMenco is out now on Bandcamp.

Witness – An Evening of Photography, Storytelling and Song with Tamir Kalifa

Witness, a multimedia performance by photojournalist and musician Tamir Kalifa, invites audiences into the intimate moments behind the news headlines. Through live projections and music, Tamir weaves his original songs with his images, tracing stories of migration, survival, loss, and hope in a powerful, immersive experience.

In partnership with Tamir, Green Street Photo Collective is also hosting an exhibition, bringing together the work of nine photographers from across New England, Witness explores what it means to observe, document, and remain present in moments shaped by humanity, resilience, and connection. Featured artists include Alesandra “Dre” Gonzales, Artemisia Luk, Bailey Stover, Chloe Ronco, Craig F. Walker, Emily Glick, Korri Crowley, John Savoia, and Rafael Medina.

Tamir is an independent photographer and musician based in Austin, Texas. Guided by the belief that compassionate visual storytelling and music can help deepen the understanding of ourselves and one another, he focuses his work on individuals and communities facing major social, political, and environmental challenges. Tamir’s work has been published widely in The New York Times, Texas Monthly, NPR and other outlets, and his intimate documentation of the families in Uvalde after the Robb Elementary School shooting earned him recognition from the Chris Hondros Fund and the American Mosaic Journalism Prize. Tamir also wrote, recorded and performed original music as a member of Mother Falcon, an Austin-based orchestral indie-rock ensemble founded in 2009. His new multimedia performance project, Witness, blends his images with original songs inspired by his experiences behind the camera.

Tamir’s album, Witness, can be found anywhere music is streamed, including Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp

Doors at 6PM | Music starts at 7PM
